95 Year Old Woman Wakes Up in Coffin Six Days After Being Pronounced Dead
A 95-year-old Chinese woman terrified her village by climbing out of her coffin after being ‘dead’ for six days. Li Xiufeng was found motionless and not breathing in bed by her neighbor 6 days ago after tripping and suffering a head injury at her home.
When he failed to wake her up, Chen Qingwang assumed the frail grandmother had passed away in her sleep, at her home in the village of Liulou, in Beiliu..
Recounting his daily visit to bring the elderly lady breakfast, Mr Qingwang, 60, said: “”She didn’t get up, so I came up to wake her up.
“No matter how hard I pushed her and called her name, she had no reactions.
“I felt something was wrong, so I tried her breath, and she has gone, but her body is still not cold.”
Because Mrs Xiufeng lived alone, Mr Qingwang and his son made preparations for her funeral, which included keeping the coffin in the house for several days for friends and relatives to pay their last respects.
The ‘dead’ woman was laid in her coffin on February 19, two days after she was discovered.
However, Mr Qingwang chose not to nail the coffin shut ahead of the planned burial on February 24.
The day before the funeral, Mr Qingwang arrived at his neighbour’s house to find the coffin empty and the corpse gone.
“We were so terrified, and immediately asked the neighbours to come for help,” he said.
After searching for the missing body, the villagers were stunned to find Mrs Xiufeng sitting on a stool in her kitchen cooking.
She reportedly told villagers: “I slept for a long time. After waking up, I felt so hungry, and wanted to cook something to eat.
“I pushed the lid for a long time to climb out.”
A county hospital reportedly believes Mrs Xiufeng suffered an artificial death, during which the person has no breath, but the body remains warm.
My Hampton University Essay
Who am I?
To simply put it, I am a student who wants to attend your school. To be honest, I am much more than that. I am Yasmaine Eason and I am not your typical person. Full of ambition and goals that are higher to reach than the stars in the night sky, I motivate myself to stretch my arm out further and further each day. Through sadness and difficult times, I still rise. With determination, education, and motivation, one day, I believe I will become all of the things I desire.
At the age of eighteen, I have been through many trials and difficult times. With the passing of my mother, my grandmother’s stroke, and the many financial issues faced by my family and me, I still find the strength to smile and go on through the toughest days. I have learned from these things that you should expect and prepare for the unexpected and not count on pity to help you along. Complaints and bad attitudes were never an option for me. At some points in my life, I was very anti-social and felt inferior; but I got over it because I realized that some things in life just happen and you just have to roll with the punches. Now, most of my peers view me as this joyful young woman who is full of happiness all of the time. I view myself as introvert blossoming into this well-rounded young lady, opinionated and driven. Trials and tribulations molded me to seek conquest. Conquest brought happiness and laughter. I laughed in the face of defeat when it saw I had risen to victory. Those obstacles fueled my passion to be successful in this harsh world. I believe that with the determination and good direction, I can pursue all of my ambitions and be a success.
What distinguishes me from your other applicants is shown with my ability to adapt to harsh things, my ambitions and goals, and my determination for success. I feel like nothing can stand in my way to succeed. I do not think I am cocky or conceited, but with the right education and drive, I feel as if I cannot lose. Nothing seems to get in my way of getting things done. No pain equates to no gain. My ambitions make it so hard for me. Sometimes, I believe that my dreams are too big for me to chase. The next second I reassure myself that I can and will accomplish all that I desire. For me, it is not about bragging and showing off what I have accomplished, it is about knowing that I was strong enough to actually succeed in reaching a goal. My strength comes from inside, so if I fail, I will be disappointing no one but myself. That is not an option.
The reason why I would like to attend Hampton University is because of the programs involving Communications and Journalism. My dream is to become a well known writer. I want my writing in magazines such as Time and National Geographic. I also want it to be versatile so I can branch out into other entertainment and informational mediums such as websites and television. I believe at Hampton University, I can learn the qualities and techniques I need to become what I dream of. I know that if I attend, I will become well rounded in my field of choice.
Goal-oriented, determined, and joyous describes me. My life has had its turns, but as of now, I am the one twisting and turning it. No other direction than success is where it is heading. One day, this drive will end. Hopefully I will end up stranded between happiness and success.
